InfoSystems is proud to announce its annual sponsorship of ChaTech Women, a program of the Chattanooga Technology Council that focuses on supporting women and other under-represented groups in technology-focused job roles.
ChaTech Women was started in 2013 to build community and create professional connections amongst women in Chattanooga’s technology sector. Hosting networking and educational events that cater to women already in tech roles, as well as students and those who wish to transition existing careers into tech-focused jobs, has been a key initiative since the program’s inception.
“While the numbers of women in technology roles have grown exponentially in a short period of time, we still have work to do,” says Josh Davis, Vice President of Marketing at InfoSystems. “By sponsoring this important initiative of our local technology council, we hope that Chattanooga outpaces national statistics as we empower women of all ages and career stages to take the leap into tech.”
In 2019, ChaTech Women hosted three events, which drew 35 to 60 attendees each. Based on this positive response, ChaTech has continued its programming in 2020 to include a ChaTech Women panel, workshop, and social. Like last year, all ChaTech Women events will be open to the public.
“At the end of the day, our primary goal at ChaTech is to drive economic growth in our region by highlighting the technology sector as a desirable and attainable career path,” says Carla Askonas, Executive Director at ChaTech. “Our ChaTech Women program is just one of the many ways we are investing in the existing and prospective talent pool right here in our community. Sponsors like InfoSystems ensure we are able to continue educating, connecting, and empowering the women who will become — and are currently contributing to — the future of tech in Chattanooga.”
